Needle inquiry Ball pt vs sharp
When sewing densely woven fabrics such as batiks, Based on extensive garment sewing experience, I feel a sharp needle is the preferred. I’ve read recent posts lauding the use of ball point needles, designed in garment sewing for knits and loosely woven fabric, for tightly woven fabrics such as batiks. Among the attributes cited for BP needle use was extreme durability (changes required much less frequently than sharps) and reduced thread breakage. Can you clarify needle choice on tightly woven fabrics when long arm quilting?

Sewthyme,
Ball point vs. sharp is one of those things that you will get different opinions from each person you ask. What it really comes down to is what you prefer using. There is no right or wrong answer.
