Older style bobbin winder

I just purchased a used Sweet 16 which comes with a separate bobbin winder.  It doesn’t look like the ones I see on YouTube or anywhere else and it didn’t come with a manual - is there a manual published?  My quilt shop seems to have figured it out, but I’d like to be sure I am doing it right.  Thanks

  I am not familiar with the bobbin winder that you are referring to. 
  Can you post a picture that I can ask around about?

  I took a picture but when I uploaded it, it said it was too big - no idea how to fix that.
