Aurifil 50 problems
A customer wanted me to use Aurifil 50 white thread. I have not used it before. My primary thread is So Fine 50 (polyester). I am using the aurifil on top and bottom.
I finished ~1/2 of the quilt - E2E panto with curvy feathers. My thread broke and I thought I was out of bobbin. However, bobbin ~1/3 yet. I cleaned out bobbin area and checked for lint in case. I rethreaded the top. Quilted 10 inches and top broke. redid it all again. Finished about 20 inches and top broke again. I need to finish this quilt by Sat and have about 5 passes yet to go but getting frustrated.
Because it is cotton, do you think there is lint buildup in the tension discs? What needle should I be using? I am using a 16 as I do with my 50 wt polyester. Any help would be appreciated.

Cindy,
You can try cleaning out all areas where you might possibly have some lint build up. Make sure to check under the spring on the bobbin case also!
How is your tension looking? You might want to loosen your top thread tension and see if that helps.
For a 50 wt thread, a 16# needle should be fine. You can also try putting in a new needle.
