I can send pictures of the problem if you need them.

    Linda,

Are you still having this issue? A picture would be helpful!

Yes, it's still an issue.  I'm sending a few pictures.  The guide completely falls off when the needle screw is removed. I was in the midst of using the SS when I realized what had happened - no idea how long the guide was loose as I'd changed the needle halfway through the quilt and it wasn't a problem then.  I was nearly finished before I saw how loose the guide was.

    Linda,

That is a common issue. I recommend not removing the screw all of the way to change the needle. When the needle is tightened, the thread guide (collar) will stay in place and not cause problems.

Kristina, it seems to me that the thread guide is slightly hitting the foot as I quilt as I see a bit of wear on the guide that I don't think was there before. How in the world was that thread guide attached to the machine? The needle screw holds the needle but only does part of the job of holding the guide in place. As you can see in the last picture, even with the needle screw and needle inserted, the guide sits off-kilter. Is there any solution to this other than using it as it is now?

    Linda,

I did a little more searching and was told that sometimes those pieces get hit and damaged. If it is causing problems with your thread, you can get a replacement part. You will need to contact our customer relations team at 1-877-697-8458. I believe that part number is QM10526 but you will want to have them make sure!

As far as how it is attached, it slides on from the bottom.

Thank you, Kristina, for doing further research for me. The phone number and the part number is welcomed.  Thanks again.

On the last thread guide, which hole should be in the front for the thread to go through? The larger or smaller one?
