right to left thread shredding

    With the way longarm machines are made, they are meant to quilt left to right. They can quilt right to left but it is more problematic. If you are moving the machines in multiple directions, it works better. If you are doing straight lines, it is recommended that you do them left to right.

    I came here today to post this exact same question!  This has been driving me absolutely nuts - i just want to do a straight grid, back and forth. Guess I'll just go with 'forth' from now on. :)

    Thanks, I'm having the same issue--top thread shredding when I move right to left.  Same thread, bobbin, needle, tension, when doing long horizontal-ish lines.  Works fine left to right, and on more multi-directional quilt motifs.

    Good to know it's not my machine per se, and that others experience this too.
