    Dear Donette,

Thanks for your question.  To load double batting, load your backing and top first.  Secure your backing to the leader on the take pole, then lift the bar with your quilt top on it into the pole cradles at both ends.  Smooth out your first layer of batting, then lay the second batt over the top.  I like to start in the middle and smooth out to the edges.  Now stitch down a plumb line and then baste your quilt top just like usual.  As you advance your quilt, I always lift my quilt top pole into the pole cradles and then make sure that both layers are smooth with no wrinkles before I baste and begin quilting.

    Best Regards,
