HQ Gllide foot
I have had to replace my glide foot 3 times in the past 2 months due to cracking or breakage. At $65 CDN each and a 2.5 hour drive to my nearest dealer, the expense is killing me. QUILTFROG has a "spoon" foot for HQ machines that has a metal shaft and metal reinforcement around the needle hole. Could you possibly make the HQ glide foot in the same manner? (much more resilient). I prefer to use HQ products on my HQ Avante, but would prefer not to pay out $65 every 3 weeks.

Dear June,
I am sorry to hear that you are having these problems with your Glide foot. Please call customer service at 877-697-8458 and discuss your issue about your Glide foot with one of our Customer Relations experts. We recommend that you do not overtighten the screw - this will prevent the cracking at the top of the foot.
Best Regards,

I had the same issue with mine. If you put a very small washer between the screw head and the glide foot prior to inserting and tightening the screw, it spreads the tension around and so far has prevented cracking. I second your opinion about the metal reinforcement. One additional thought, when mine cracked, I put a little CA glue (also called crazy glue) in the crack and pressed it back together with a small pair of pliers, then reinforced the broken area with some strong thread and so far, it has held up.

Same problem here. I tried gluing it but it doesn't sit right so it will go in the trash.
