MicroQuilter thread keeps breaking while using Prostitcher on the Avante
Are there considerations when using 100 wt thread on the Prostitcher??
When I first started using the MicroQuilter thread, the thread started breaking every minute, not frayed, just a clean break. Currently I can sew across a 90 inch quilt with only 3 breaks. Very frustrating.
I'm using a 16 needle. Tried an 18 but thread continued to break
Bobbin stands up in my hand and slowly free falls to the flour. That seems OK.
I did loosen the top tension quite a bit and that seemed to help but I can't make a clean run across one row without the thread breaking.
I haven't upgraded my software since the April 2017 release since I've been having great luck with the Omni. Primarily I want to show the texture and not the stitches on the quilts I quilting on the longarm.
Are there considerations that I have not mentioned? The pattern I'm sewing right now is the HQ Stars and Loops. Also I slowed the speed down. Speed is approximately a third of the way up the rabbit measure.

Michele,
I am sorry that you are having problems with your thread breaking. MicroQuilter is a 100 wt. thread, so it if a very fine thread. You shouldn't have to go to larger needle with this thread. Because it is a finer thread it needs less tension. I think you need to loosen your top thread more. You may even need to loosen your bobbin so it stands up in your hand and falls a little faster. This thread works great once you have your tension set correctly.
