Tension Issues on Forte
Recently purchased a Forte (three weeks ago). I am having issues with tension. Using Omni 50 weight. I have adjusted the bobbin tension according to the educational video. Occasionally during the stitching it looks fine. Other times it looks as though the upper tension is loose with the bobbin thread running straight along the bottom so I have tightened the top tension. It will then run smoothly for a while and then I have a large portion with large eyelashes underneath so I "reflossed" the top thread into the tension discs. My top tension is showing numbers like 15-20 but your educational videos talk about top tension numbers of 240 on up. Is it because I have a forte that my tension is lower numbers or should it be that high? If I put it up so high then the thread is so tight I can't even pull it. What tension number does the forte ship with? and what type of thread do they use for the sample piece because it looks great. Any info would be appreciated.

Dduran,
The number for the tension is different for every machine. Try wrapping your thread around the tension disks a second time. Occasionally the thread will come out of the tension disks and you will get the eyelashing. If it is wrapped around it cannot come out. Make sure you set your bobbin tension first and then adjust your top tension.
If you are still having issues please contact your local retailer where you purchased your machine or call our Education team at 1-877-697-8458, M-F, 9-5. We would love to help you.

Mine says 10 all the time even after I adjust the top tension. I tried to do the reset as outlined in the manual and it still says 10.
