Tutorials
When I go to the Handiquilter site, I can never find the tutorials on how to use the ProStitcher. I have found them once and have spent a half hour trying to find them again with no luck. They should be under Education, I would think. No dice. I just found a sign for them but clicked off the page before I realized they were there. Then, when I finally got to see what was offered, they seem to be all over the place. There are different ways to do the same thing using different buttons I guess. The point is when I bought the Prostitcher, I was given a booklet with tutorials in it. I have lost part of that and would like to get it again. It seems like it should be available here but I can't find it. In addition, the tutorial I was given was for the old model, not the new model.
Some of these tutorials are very well done. When it says "Push this button." "Go to" the next button and do this. But when it is just vague without saying which buttons to push, it is useless. I am 75. I am really trying to learn this on my own. I don't like teachers who are not clear on which buttons to push on Youtube videos. They go very fast because it is so easy for them. But we don't learn very much. I have one row quilted. I will get it done. It is taking weeks not days to figure it out. It could be easier. I would really like tutorial booklets.

Diane,
When you go to the Handi Quilter website let your mouse hover over Education. Then on the right hand side in a pinkish color your will see HQ Pro-Stitcher Tutorials. Press on this and it will bring up the tutorials. Print them off and then you will have them.
Contact you retailer where you purchased the Pro-Stitcher and see if you can get copies of the booklet they gave you. I am not sure what booklet you received.
You are welcome to call our Education department at 1-877-697-8458, M-F, 9-5 MDT. We would love to help you get quilting.
Best regards,

No, it doesn't bring up tutorials. I'm sick and tired of trying to find the information I need to use my machine. I wonder if handiquilter takes advice from the people who buy their products as to what their questions are. Where do I find information on how to do free motion with prostitcher. I have no control on my machine when trying to free motion.

Judy,
There are tutorials on the hqprostitcher.com. Click on Education and there are several tutorials when you scroll down just a little. Anything pertaining to the Pro-stitcher will be found on this website now.
When you say you have no control on your machine make sure your gears are un-engaged. Go to the Pro-Stitcher tab and make sure the Gears button is purple. When this button is purple you have no drag on the machine as you try to freemotion. Once this is purple the control of the machine is all under your control. It does take practice to get used to moving the machine smoothly.
